TORSTAR-PLUS 10/20 is a combination of two anti-hypertensive drugs namely Torsemide or Spironolactone.

Torsemide: Belongs to a class of drug known as Loop diuretics. It is used to treat hypertension or edema. It lowers the blood pressure by removing the extra water, salt and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing the urine production.

Spironolactone: Belongs to a class of drug known as Potassium-Sparing diuretics. It is used in the treatment of Hypertension, Edema & low potassium. It mainly acts on DCT (Distal convolute tube) where it prevents the loss of potassium & increases the removal of extra salt, water or fluid from the body.

Blood pressure lowering is an essential part to prevent cardiovascular diseases. If anyone can control their blood pressure it will reduce the risk of various cardiovascular diseases such as heart failure, IHD, arrhythmia etc. Proper control of high blood pressure can also reduce the risk of stroke.
